Roots Collective is a family of global citizens who are revolutionizing plastic waste, empowering through employment, and enlightening our communities by advocating for all living beings. One of the founders is a member of e3 and a fourth year Sociology student here at SDSU: Chasejamsion (CJ) Akilah Manar-Spears.
Roots Collective transforms plastic pollution into fashionable bags and accessories. These handcrafted items will contain information on Ghana in its social, environmental and political progress. They will also create restorative trade between California and Ghana.

Roots Collective is intersecting activism and international business by coordinating community cleanups throughout Ghana to transform mentalities of wasting plastic. As a family of global citizens, RC coordinates community workshops focusing on entrepreneurship, leadership, and humanism. These will support the growing networks of activists and entrepreneurs that resist growing pollution and unemployment in Ghana.
Potential consumers across California are being inspired to commit to Roots Collective through grassroots marketing strategies, sustainably fashionable products, and combatting of plastic waste.
